from the Bush twins to the Obama girls

I found this clip online. The Bush twins, Jenna and Barbara, wrote a letter to Sasha and Malia Obama. It is a nice moving letter that the Bush girls read outloud in the video clip below:

We took the superstar and the princess to the beach to watch the sunset and play in the sand. This was the princess' first trip to the beach! We all had a very nice time.

The Princess' favorite music!

You would think that a "typical" two year old would want to listen to The Wiggles, Barney, or Disney songs in the car. Not my Princess! (I suppose this is just more proof that she is NOT typical!) Her favorite music comes from the '70's rock band Queen. Her most favorite song of all is "Bicycle Race" with "We Will Rock You" and "We Are the Champions" coming in a close tie at second. She requests "bicycle bicycle" in the car on the way to her babysitters house in the morning. After hearing her song this morning she said, "I Rock You". So we listened and sang along! What a hoot! Silly girl.

The Princess is TWO!!

trying to get a "good" picture of the birthday Princess - nope!

How did this happen??? How did the Princess grow up enough to be 2?? I can't believe it! We celebrated today with a little party at home and pizza dinner with family. The Princess is super excited about a new play kitchen (don't tell anyone, but the Superstar is super excited about it too!) She loves to play with all the new food she got in her kitchen and keep her babies well fed.

I was able to find a birthday dress for the Princess to wear. It's not the exact one I had wanted but it is super cute. I made new hair bows for her with "Happy Birthday" ribbons.

Grandma made the Princess' cake this year. It was PINK with ponies on it. The Princess LOVES ponies! She calls them "tonies". Funny!

what's new???

We've finished a week of school in 2009 and are surviving! Honestly, it wasn't too bad coming back after the break. But, I could have handled another week of vacation from work/school!
The kids are really loving having McGregor home. She's doing very well too and loving the kids right back. playing with play-dough on the back porch...
silly posing children...
"kiss your sister, kiss your brother..."

I'm continuing to make hair bows. Here's a pair that are actually for her friend the mermaid but, we needed red bows for "pretty hair" so we used them before we gave them to her.
